St Andrew's Bike to Church Sunday
Been meaning to try a different way to church?
Concerned about fewer parking spaces with the sale of the southwest lot?
Just want to have less of a footprint on God's creation?
Sunday, June 25th, 2017 is the day to try ...
Bike to Church Sunday
St Andrew's activities are focused this year around the 10 a.m. service, since it's the most heavily attended, and thus would benefit the most by parishioners trying alternative modes - whether walking, biking, carpooling, riding transit, or ???
Way To Go has resources for carpooling and other modes. RTD has a large amount of information on schedules, routes, Park-n-Ride lots, and even taking your bike on board trains or storing them on the bike racks available on the front of every bus in the system. (Limited space is available on a first-come, first serve basis.) If you register, use "St Andrew's Episcopal Church" as your employer.
For Bike to Church Sunday activities, first, the bike rack that's been in the Garth (have you seen it before?) will be decorated as the OK Bike Corral. Bike monitors will provide additional security during the 10 a.m. worship.
After the service, everyone is invited outside for the Blessing of the Bicycles. There will be a festive, bike-themed coffee hour, with an information table. There will also be fabulous supplies to decorate your bike. Finally, there will be a short bike parade to Benedict Fountain Park. Non-bikers are invited to walk along in the parade.
